People with guns don't prevent violence - 14 Police Officers killed so far this year

This seems as clear a message as any that people will continue to kill people no matter how many guns there are.

There have been 14 officers shot to death this year. And it's only February

(CNN) -- So far this year, 14 law enforcement officers across the United States have died after they were shot in the line of duty.

Six of them died in just one week, said Craig Floyd with the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

One of the lawmen died in February due to complications from a gunshot wound he received in 1994.

"The tragic deaths... (are) a stark reminder of the dangers our law enforcement professionals face each and every day while protecting and serving our communities. Too often, their service and sacrifice are taken for granted," Floyd said in a statement earlier this month.

1. A few were ambushed

call out to a location under false pretenses and murdered. No chance to defend themselves.

That what these school, movie theatres, churches, nightclub were ambushed. Shooter picked the time, location, weapon. I know lots of humans want that hero fantasy, if it happened near me, well I would do this or that. Ambush attack throws the human brain out of its logical sphere. Hell, you might not even know your own name. Brain freeze.

I wish people would talk about it for what it is. Cops are trained on how to respond, they all fear a ambush. That's why they park their patrol cars the way they do. Driver to driver, pointed in opposite directions. That is why they don't walk up to the front door in twos , next to each other.


The shooter has the advantage, they thought it out. All you get to do is respond.
