What is going on with Manafort and Gates??

Robert Mueller laid another indictment on them today. About 32 counts on Manafort and another 23 on Gates. It was filed in a different jurisdiction than the last indictment?

If Mueller is trying to put pressure on them, I suppose it must be working?

How long has Manafort been in the money-laundering business? When he was hired on as Trump's campaign manager, he brought along Gates as his Deputy.

Mueller has been busy! Is he trying to squeeze Manafort and Gates to get information on Trump? Will they hold out for a pardon from Trump? Or will they turn on him??

That tells me that he expects a pardon.

3. If they get pardons, they will be compelled to talk to Mueller. If they refuse it all starts again.

So long as they tell him the truth, they stay immunized. The first lie they tell and its over for them.

I would not want to be in their shoes, waiting on Donald Trump to do anything that was not helpful to him personally.

9. It was reported by ABC News yesterday that Gates reached a plea deal

"One day after reaching a plea deal with a former associate of onetime Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and his deputy, Rick Gates, federal prosecutors showed up at the federal court with additional charging documents — filed under seal — in the case against the duo. "

I'm guessing that the additional charges against Gates are insurance against him not living up to his end of the plea bargain deal.

6. They have been caught in another crime

They didn't just do one thing. It is crime upon crime upon crime.

As I understand it, the property Manafort used to secure his bail bond was obtained through loans. He did not have enough money to purchase the property originally, so Gates forged documents for him to make it look like he did. The property was obtained through nefarious means in the first place. That means his collateral was obtained fraudulently. He is a flight risk and his bail should be revoked.

...is the man they sold their souls to: Vladimir Putin. If they flip on Putin (so to speak) no place on the planet will be safe for them.

What to do, what to do? Stay silent and spend the rest of your life in an American prison? Or make a plea deal, shorten your sentence -- and also take a chance that one of Putin's minions will drop something in your soup that will shorten your sentence by shortening your life?
