I've lived in 3 of those states.. California, New York, and Hawaii

Good on all the Blue states who do.

That's clear from the states that have done so. Their laws have been challenged on 2nd Amendment grounds, but still stand.

We should pay attention to this. It's another reason to work very hard to elect Democrats to state legislatures across the country. That means that voting in off-year elections is supremely important

We need to stop ignoring non-presidential-year elections. We've done that for far too long.

In November of last year, the Supreme Court denied an appeal of the Maryland ban. We can and should have a permanent, national assault weapons ban. The NRA likes to use inflammatory rhetoric to state otherwise. This is a lie.
