Isn't there probably just a selection on the tools or something in Adobe that will do that for you?

There's an option in the latest versions of Word that will let you save a doc as a PDF file. He must have been using a older version of Word. The option has been in there since Word 2010.

I use CutePDF to "print" web pages, Word documents, or just about anything else to PDF. It's free and very convenient to have around. It shows up in my printer list as an option. http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp

Adobe doesn't like the results, though - or those of WordPerfect PDF files. I use Adobe PhotoShop to compile JPGs and PDFs into multipage PDF documents. It will not accept the PDFs from those two sources directly into the part of the program that does this. I have to open those PDFs with PhotoShop, save as PDF, and then I can compile my document. Minor nuisance on my end, worth saving the hundreds of dollars Adobe Acrobat costs.

If you really want to make editing a PDF harder. Make a PDF, take an image of it, attach the image as the PDF.

Then, someone would have to convert the PDF to a JPEG and then use an OCR program to convert to text. Of course, all special editing, signatures, watermarks, and other identifiable stuff will be lost when trying to recreate the document.

so difficult to do. But making a Word doc into a PDF is one of the easiest things, unless you don't realize there are drop down menus.

What a ding-dong.

But I think the PDF file has writer information in it that would be changed when converted to word and back to PDF.

It never occurred to Paul Manafort that there ever would be an investigation. Or he assumed that Cheeto would get him out of it if there was one. I'm sure his own kids (or grandkids) know how to make PDFs, he could have asked one of them.

It sounds like his wife wouldn't do shit for him, but that's another story.
