My kitties, one of whom is very ill are my main focus now, really she is the main focus now. Just turn off the tv, don’t read or listen to the news. That helps a lot. Watching the skating and skiing here and there is nice too but after a while it starts to irritate me.

Recently moved into a different home (but to the original home was), so all is good and well. As part of move, am going through tons of stuff that we had to move and so am using up all kinds of kitchen stuff (cooking cookies, making Quiche of all kinds).

Spouse and I are doing all of the taste testing of these experiments, so mostly all good (except the bad experiments, where the 3 doggies of mine get to then have)...oh goodie!!!

take me. This little dog just lay curled up in my lap and I petted her and felt such a relief of stress and a few minutes of real peace. It was a lovely feeling.

She has two toy poodles that scamper around her salon, delighting her clients and her staff. In between her appointments she gives them quickie walks outside.

Get off the artificially accelerated schedule we often feel obligated to live by and try to hitch a ride with nature for a few hours. Walk in the woods. Sit on a log and feel the cool dampness of bark on your butt. Look at the biggest tree near you and consider how long it took to grow to that size. Think of all those you know, living and dead, who have shared the earth with that tree.

Watch the birds; the squirrels; the deer if you are so fortunate.

Listen: to the breeze; to the rain; to the geese overhead.

Everything just mentioned moves to the rhythm of the forest; the earth; the universe. THIS is real. THIS is vital.

Smile. Return to your labors knowing that that tree will likely outlive you. And, that's OK.

Deleted all social media accounts. I am so disappointed in how hard my family fell for troll postings...even though I warned em.

I'm frying okra right now. I used to love it as a kid from Popeye's. Decided to try and make it myself.
