The GOP does not deserve to live. I despise them because they treat the dead victims and the wounded with absolute contempt.
They are the god damned enemy of everything humane. And they are neo Nazi. We don't have death camps under them but we have death panels.
Sorry I am so pissed. But I hate these bastards to the last legislator.

about that the other night. Texas is such a huge state just to keep in perspective that if Hillary had won Texas she would have won the election despite Trump stealing PA,OH,MI,WI away from the Dems. Obviously I'm not knocking Hillary for not winning Texas since no Dem in the present could win Texas but it just goes to show you how much a game changer Texas is on the electoral map. I look forward to the day when the Dems win Texas. I definitely believe it will be an even more painful loss for the Republicans than the pain the Dems suffered in losing the Blue Wall in '16.

(36,827 posts)Texas is already a majority-minority state and the demographics are changing rapidly. The only thing that has kept the GOP afloat this long is they have had to rely on an increasingly larger voter turnout of a shrinking demographic. At some point that strategy becomes untenable. Once the GOP faces the prospect of never winning another presidency, they will divide and dissolve. The fractures are already becoming apparent.

(578 posts)me a lot of California before it permanently turned blue. I feel right now politically it's where California was during the 80's. In 8-12 years its going to flip blue.

(611 posts)A lot of Hispanics and Asians moving in and being born. The Hispanic population is especially young, and as they age and become eligible to vote, they essentially will go off like a demographic time bomb. Not only turning less white, Texas will probably gain seats after the 2020 census. Does not look good for the Rs in the next few years.

(94,727 posts)Parties succeed because people vote for them. If you legislated away the Republican Party, their base voters would still exist, as would the people who are willing to vote for them if they're frustrated with what the Democrats do. Take away the Republican Party and some other conservative movement will step up to take it's place.

(36,747 posts)Then see them lose all their majorities in state legislatures.
That will be a giant leap forward.
The loss of the SALT deduction in those states is utterly going to fry them alive.
