DALTON, Ga. (AP) — Police in Georgia say officers are responding to reports of shots fired at a high school and a teacher who may have been barricaded in a classroom is in custody.

Police in Dalton tweeted that no children were hurt or were in danger.

Dalton is about 90 miles (145 kilometers) north of Atlanta.

Well, Bimby, we've learned that the teacher did not have time to turn on reruns of the Andy Griffith Show but by thinking quickly was able to pull a handgun and fire warning shots that slowed the assailant, as the US President rushed into the room, frightening the would-be killer from the building and ending a potentially deadly showdown

Our local NRA spokesman says we shouldn't be too hasty about keeping guns away from crazy people, because we could disarm good citizens who notice invisible people who are invisible to everybody else
