Wisconsin AFL-CIO endorses Rebecca Dallet for Wisconsin Supreme Court justice

This week, the Wisconsin AFL-CIO issued an endorsement of Rebecca Dallet for Wisconsin Supreme Court justice.

The statements from the AFL-CIO:

“Rebecca Dallet believes in the values of justice and fairness for all people and will be guided by those principles while on the bench,” said Phil Neuenfeldt, president of Wisconsin AFL-CIO. “Her experience and dedication to putting the constitutional rights of the people first and ignoring special interests has wholeheartedly earned the endorsement of Wisconsin’s working people.”

“It’s time to end the era of special interests calling the shots in Wisconsin’s highest court,” said Stephanie Bloomingdale, secretary-treasurer of the Wisconsin AFL-CIO. “Rebecca Dallet will bring a thoughtful approach to the laws that govern Wisconsinites. Rebecca Dallet will stand up for the rights of citizens and protect the values we share as Wisconsinites.”

Welcoming the endorsement, Dallet said, “It’s a tremendous honor to be endorsed by the working men and women of the Wisconsin AFL-CIO. As a former union member, I know how important labor unions, collective bargaining, and the power of working people are to a strong and stable economy. I will always make sure that every Wisconsin citizen is treated fairly in our courts, that we uphold the constitution and the law, and that big-money special interests don’t run roughshod over regular people."

The nonpartisan election for a 10-year term on the court is April 3. The primary election — which narrowed the field of candidates to Rebecca Dallet and Michael Screnock — was Feb. 20.
