Remember the story CNN ran in June 2017 & later retracted that got three reporters fired? Stack it up next to tonight’s NYT story.

but wait it gets weirder from WaPo:

basically CNN fired three people for what amounts to process errors on a piece that nine months later would be vindicated as an accurate story


don’t get me wrong they may well have been egregious & fireable process errors - but pretty interesting that the core assertion turns out to hold up

Thats a clumsy comparison, but essentially this is what the OP is about.
