Dow drops 190 points after Trump's top economic adviser Gary Cohn resigns
Posted in the Erie Forum
NEW YORK U.S. stocks are sinking Wednesday as investors worry that more protectionist trade policies are on the way. Gary Cohn, the top economic adviser to President Donald Trump, resigned after he opposed the administration's planned tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum. Trump also suggested the U.S. could impose penalties on China as part of intellectual property disputes.

(6,362 posts)...as of 3:32pm EST, the broader market (SP500) is green vs. yesterday's close. Not looking at any individual positions but if your 401k is in SPY or any of the other broad general market indices, you go home from work today no worse, maybe trivially better, than you went home last night.
Feels like the street is banking on congress to do something about the tariff questions. We'll see.
