I'm sorry, I think he was a fine ambassador but I lived in New Mexico and know there are issues with him.

He got caught up in a pay to play scandal which torpedoed his position in Obama’s cabinet and then he ran into some trouble with his business dealings a little while later. Richardson is a “meh” TBH.

Richardson pleads no contest in hit-and-run accident

Richardson was cited Jan. 6 after a woman reported Richardson’s Jeep struck her car from behind twice at a stop sign
and knocked her into the intersection of Marcy Street and Paseo de Peralta in Santa Fe.

Richardson’s yellow Jeep twice struck Diehl’s Acura on the snowy morning of Jan. 6 at the intersection of Paseo de Peralta and Marcy Street.

“He pushed me around the corner – he hit me that hard,” Diehl told police.
“As soon as I got out of the car, the vehicle (with Richardson driving) was already gone.

When police later located Richardson’s Jeep parked in a lot near Marcy and Washington Avenue,
Richardson’s personal assistant initially denied that the former governor was driving in the area.

“Um, did I hit somebody?” a seemingly surprised Richardson asked the officer.
“It was at a stoplight, and I think I just barely popped it.”
