"Why do you have to embarrass Jared like that?"

According to five Republicans close to the White House, Trump has diagnosed the problem as having the wrong team around him and is looking to replace his senior staff in the coming weeks. “Trump is going for a clean reset, but he needs to do it in a way that’s systemic so it doesn’t look like it’s chaos,” one Republican said.

Sources said that the first officials to go will be Chief of Staff John Kelly and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, both of whom Trump has clashed with for months. On Tuesday, Trump met with John Bolton in the Oval Office. When he plans to visit Mar-a-Lago next weekend, Trump is expected to interview more candidates for both positions, according to two sources. “He’s going for a clean slate,” one source said. Cohn had been lobbying to replace Kelly as chief, two sources said, and quit when he didn’t get the job. “Trump laughed at Gary when he brought it up,” one outside adviser to the White House said. (The White House declined to comment.)

Next on the departure list are Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump. Trump remains fiercely loyal to his family, but various distractions have eroded their efficacy within the administration. Both have been sidelined without top-secret security clearances by Kelly, and sources expect them to be leaving at some point in the near future. One scenario being discussed is that Kushner would return to New York to oversee Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign with his ally Brad Parscale, who was hand-selected by the Trump family. One Trump friend referred to it as a “soft landing.” Ivanka will likely stay on longer, perhaps through the summer, before decamping home to New York to enroll the children in a Manhattan private school. Both are presumed to remain in close contact with Trump, who often places significant value on the opinions expressed outside his administration, anyway.

Sources cautioned that the couple plans to hang on as long as possible, so as not to make it appear that Kelly railroaded them out of the West Wing. They continue to be furious at the chief. “Why do you have to embarrass Jared like that?” Ivanka complained to a friend recently. Kushner is doing everything he can to appear engaged despite his lack of a security clearance. “He is looking at everything he can do that doesn’t require a clearance,” a former White House official said. Another source added, “The White House is trying to fluff him up again.”

Ominous even.

I know that one poster threw out the idea of the buffoon-in-chief calling out the National Guard. Almost everyone dismissed this.

Here we have this story where the b-i-c is looking for a "full reset," whatever that means. What the article says it means is that everyone who's familiar would be out. Cohn and Hicks are out soon, if not already. Jared, Ivanka, Kelly to follow? Sanders? Anyone who comes in is going to be far more than a true believer because they know now that there is no benefit in the real world of having served in this regime's WH. So it's an all or nothing move for them. That strikes me as ominous.

You have the tariff issue and the NK issue sparking outrage and concern worldwide, and these are things he did on his own, against all advice.

Zinke spent $139,000 on a door. Reinforced? Crypto secure?

Shulkin, an Obama holdover and from what I understand, a decent enough guy, has posted armed guards at his door and has restricted b-i-c appointees/supporters from even gaining access to the tenth floor.

The State Department has been stripped of most of its experts and expertise.

Who knows what other cabinet secretaries are doing to secure themselves and their communications with the WH to a level even higher than is normal.

Notwithstanding a few so-called moderates, we have a republican congress that has no spine and no integrity.

Most reporting I've seen, republicans in the governor's office and state legislatures are even more extreme right than federal legislators, if that's even possible.

There is little doubt in the reality-based universe that the buffoon is nothing more than a Putin hand puppet.

And then there's Mueller's investigations.

In other countries, we'd regard these developments as threatening.

With tinfoil hat firmly in place, I'm even more wary now than I was a week or two or three ago that the buffoon will attempt to follow Chinese Premier Xi into the president for life mode. I doubt it will be successful, but the disruption will be frightening.

Talk about lipstick on a pig. He has no choice because either Mueller is cleaning his house or their own corruption is directing them to the egress.

A clean reset would be recognizing that he "Trump" is the problem, followed by his unqualified daughter, and his dishonest and equally unqualified son-in-law.

Given recent developments with daddy-in-law's inability to keep his little baby carrot in his own salad, "fluffing him up" might be a poor choice of words.

Remember that the 2 people listed here as 'first to go' are both replacements - one for Rince Preibus (sp??? who cares), who just didn't fit in with the alt-right lunatics of Trump's base, and one for the soon-to-be-jailed Flynn. He's already meant to have had his extra go to make up for his inexperience. They were meant to be the "adults in the room". So now, Trump thinks his band of He-Man Woman Haters are ready to run their own government. Bolton is paranoid, and god help the world if he takes over as national security adviser during North Korea negotiations. Or at any time, if he can get his teeth into Iran.

Javanka have been trashed by their own fundamental dishonesty, inherited from their fathers. Ivanka is his fault in almost every way (but she did have free will, and could have walked away from the corrupting lure of power, as Tiffany seems to have done), and he could have ignored Jared if he hadn't done such a pisspoor job of bringing up his own 1st 2 sons and needed a substitute to kiss his hurt feelings better.

By now, no one with any sense on the right will touch a White House job unless there's a mass replacement to get rid of the existing crazies like Miller, Mulvaney, and probably Conway, too. New appointments might be able to contain the Madness of King Don, but only if everyone in the cordon is cooperating in it. Pence can't be sacked, but can probably be persuaded to shut up and hope for a 25th Amendment solution. The cabinet members are bribable, in one form or another. The best case scenario between now and the November elections is a regime like the dying days of Dubya - right wingers who know they're on the way out, but with a vague idea of preserving their reputations for a smidgen of competence for future employment.
