Trump made a desperate and disgusting last-minute pitch for the Republican in the Pennsylvania special election. But many former Trump voters are vocally and enthusiastically backing Democrat Conor Lamb.
On Saturday night, Trump trotted out his familiar mix of racism and despotism in service to Republican Rick Saccone. He unleashed hateful attacks on women like California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters and Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren. He smeared members of the press. And he rambled on again about making Mexico pay for his border wall.
But many Pennsylvania voters are no longer interested in what Trump and Saccone are offering.
At a Sunday rally in Waynesburg, Lamb received an uproarious standing ovation from the audience. - Share Blue

(4,227 posts)Thank you for sharing this! Gives me a ray of hope here in PA's 18th. We had the pleasure of meeting Conor Lamb at one of his fundraisers here in Westmoreland County.
This is what we've been waiting, working for and hoping would happen soon.

(9,771 posts)I mean, the gerrymander here is intense, but I still suspect foul play.
But, good to see anyone who actually voted for the Dumpster abandon him.

(4,227 posts)The day we went to vote and saw people voting that I didn't even recognize...we live in a town of 4000...I knew we were screwed. Also, they were asking for receipts for their vote because they had to show it to someone.😨

(2,181 posts)Hillary wins the popular vote by almost 3 million votes but loses Pennsylvania...Wisconsin and Michigan.every poll had her up in all 3 states before the election and every state poll was correct except those 3.NC and FL was a toss up. all the other state polls was correct.

(15,353 posts)Hillary was up by almost 7 points the day before Comey announced that they were "reopening the investigation". From that point, until election day, there was a steady erosion in Clinton's poll numbers.
Don't you think that erosion could have easily discouraged approximately 70K votes in three states to give Donnie Short Fingers the win?
That's the number that makes me apoplectic. Not the 3M+ total votes Hillary won by, but the 70K in 3 states that put shit-for-brains over the top.
For less than the attendance at a Saturday Ohio State Football game, we all have to fucking suffer.

(2,181 posts)I blame the letter also but I think Russian propaganda helped Trump in those 3 states by getting people to stay at home or vote 3rd party.

(21,625 posts)I'll tell you why... I was looking at the county by county vote totals in many states. As the evening wore on Hillary was ahead in PA. all the rural "red" counties were 99% in. The only major area yet to be reported was Pittsburgh's county. I wrote off PA as a Hillary win and was looking at other states when suddenly CNN said PA had flipped. Damn I wish I had been taking screen shots through the night because to this day I don't know WHERE those votes came from when only Hillary votes were left out there and she was already ahead.

(9,771 posts)Our voting system, not just in PA of course, has no accountability. How can that be the case with something that important?!

(5,813 posts)tRump and his minions have repeatedly said (when admitting the Russians hacked our voting system) that never the less, they did not influence the outcome. Hogwash! That was their Whole point in hacking and all the other tricks they pulled. Their goal was to influence the outcome. We have been duped, screwed and misled. But eventually, we will know the truth. What will be done about it is anyone's guess. Just makes me very sad that tRump really did not win honestly. And Hillary was cheated out of what she worked hard to win and so many others worked their hearts out to help her win.
As the saying goes, We wuz robbed! But some day we will know how they did it.

Hundreds, maybe thousands of them, but certainly hundreds of them living and working here in politics, IT, voting precincts, etc.
Then along comes the gift that would never stop giving? Along comes a person they literally OWN? Along comes someone willing to commit treason all day long everyday?
And they leave it up to YOU
Up to ME
On Election Day?
REALLY?

(129,449 posts)If you look at Erie County, which was reliably (D) for decades, you'll see one of the problems. You'll note that they flipped to Drumpf and teabagger Toomey, yet voted (D) for State AG, State Auditor General, and State Treasurer during the same election, and by pretty good margins.

I still can't get over that Trump said he thought he was better looking than Conor Lamb! Powerful proof he is delusional.

(45,806 posts)reeving up the crowd for the Pub with his usual insanity. I was sad to see the people seem there still believing his BS. You've eased my worry a lot by showing the crowd on Sunday who recognize Conman's promises are total lies and if they voted for him in Nov. they realize it was a mistake. It's great to see them at the rally on Sunday in the winter that doesn't want to go yet. I think it's a solid vote for Lamb.

(51,627 posts)I am soooooo fucking pissed off at CNN and MSNBC for showing over an hour of that idiot! They are doing the same BS they did in 2016. Would Fux Ruse air Obama at a campaign rally for a Dem campaign rally right before a special election for over an hour?!?!? They showed an empty stage and podium waiting for the fucking moron to appear in 2016 meanwhile they would not discuss the real issues that Hillary wanted to discuss. They gave the idiot free publicity and are still doing it for ratings and $$$$$! So much for the "liberal media".

(32,748 posts)These older folks look to be union members or at least union supporters. In our area (western PA) the unions have been reliably Democratic voters. They're not the juggernaut they once were, but the older guys still get it.
On top of that there are many older people who read the newspapers and watch the nightly news. They're sick of Trump and all the shit about the GOP treason. Maybe they voted for Trump, but they're definitely not voting GOP now.
That's the good news!
