Leaked email shows North Carolina GOP panicking over Pennsylvania upset

The GOP’s failure in the Pennsylvania special election has Republicans across the country quaking over a monumental shift in power come November. And that includes Republicans in North Carolina, who currently control the state assembly and fear that might not be the case come November.

A fundraising email leaked by conservative North Carolina blogger Brant Clifton shows just how panicked the party is. Matt Bales, political director for the North Carolina Republican House Caucus, warned that if the Pennsylvania result were applied to the state assembly, Democrats would wipe out the Republican majority.

Bales calculated that after November, the North Carolina General Assembly would have 74 Democrats and 46 Republicans. Republicans currently hold a 75-45 majority.

It could be even worse than Bales realizes. Democrats in North Carolina crunched the same numbers including the state senate, and concluded that 39 seats would flip, giving Democrats majorities in both houses.“And – like every single district in NC – every single one has a Democratic challenger,” wrote Robert Howard, communications director for the North Carolina Democrats. And according to Howard, the momentum is certainly on Democrats’ side.

and endless discussions to get half of this country to NOT vote to harm themselves.

Maybe the GOP needs extensive psychological counseling, isnt there something for people who self inflict harm on themselves? Cut themselves, etc?

That the regressives have spent to ensure that our government is barely functioning, so that they can claim that government doesn’t work.

Meanwhile, they stuff our tax dollars into their own pockets.

Maybe a new nationwide democratic majority will show them the error of their ways.

March On, Democrats!

Hitler knew it and so do the Koch bros and Fox "news".

When lies are allowed to be broadcast 24/7, its going to have an effect which we see today.

This crap didn't happen under the Fairness doctrine and when monopolies were not allowed in TV, radio and print.

the kooks et al. clearly got the message. Weren't they on board with Nazis before the inconvenience of WWII? And A-OK with the whole Nazi philosophy?

Just another little-known aspect of American history that has had major consequences for governance.

Repugs will concentrate on cheating more, shrieking and screaming lies about how unfair it all is, and making up stories about what Dems "intend" on doing.

All they have to do is go back to basics and everything will be fine.

Just propose bigger tax cuts and smaller government, support for gun dealers and against immigrants, unions and the LGBTQ and invite Trump to stump for their candidates and everything will be just hunky dory (Voter suppression and gerrymandering.)

Nothing to worry about at all.

the traitorous, con-man p**sy-grabber Trump president. He then proceeded to rip apart everything that has made this nation great, with the help of Turtle McConnell, Punk Ryan, the so-called 'freedom caucus,' and a bunch of incompetent misfits he appointed to his cabinet. He's left literally hundreds of key jobs vacant and it is clear he has no clue about how to even be the president. He even has to have crib notes to help him fake empathy.

The fucking sociopath.

He has brought SHAME upon this republic and upon all of us.

All the independents who wanted an outsider and voted for him are turning blue.

The Dems have awakened into a nationwide resistance. The kids in Parkland are pushing back HARD and have begun a national movement. Black Lives Matter is a national movement. #Me Too is a national movement.

And you know what? The billionaire parasites that own the GOP are SCARED TO DEATH of us. We. The People.

NOVEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The way $$$$$$$$$$ works in our politics is corrosive.

Not counting any of our chickens until they're actually cooked.
