Sarris Candies apologizes for Trump Jr. visit before special congressional election

Some of you may remember the thread that contained the hilarious photo of Trump Jr being interviewed by a giant chocolate bunny at Sarris Candies in Canonsburg during the PA 18 race.

Sarris has now discovered that this stunt cost them customers and has apologized. Too bad, I’ll be getting my chocolate elsewhere.

CANONSBURG – A popular chocolate factory in Canonsburg apologized to its customers for hosting a visit by Donald Trump Jr. and Republican congressional candidate Rick Saccone on the eve of a closely watched special election that went in favor of Democratic congressional candidate Conor Lamb.

Sarris Candies posted the apology on its Facebook page about 12:30 p.m. Thursday, saying it had “underestimated the political repercussions as a result of that visit” on Monday, a day before voting in the 18th District election.

“In the future we will be much more in tune with who we allow to visit,” the company stated on Facebook.
