An attorney for Michael Cohen levied a threat toward porn star Stormy Daniels Friday afternoon in an interview on the Law&Crime Network. (Cohen is an attorney for Donald Trump and/or his affiliated companies.) Speaking with Law&s Lis Wiehl, attorney David Schwartz said he wanted to give Daniels something to think about when the lights are gone and the cameras are off.

Schwartz argued Daniels had already breached the contract, then said:

(115,735 posts)I realize that lawyers are not always held in the highest esteem, but there are some minimum standards of conduct, which these goons seem unaware of. They sound like mob fixers, guys named Vinnie and Guido with their violin cases and talk of sleeping with the fishes.

(10,024 posts)Seriously. Does he really think anyone cares about his sexual escapades. No one even cares if his penis is proportional to his stubby fingers. Melania doesn't give a fuck...though she might get more money from her contract with him if he does not keep his indiscretions hidden.
Worst case, he gets tabloid press from everyone but the Inquirer (which adores his every exhale and snort) and he still gets to destroy the country while stealing billions and making everybody miserable.

(12,586 posts)Someone apparently objected to a post I wrote concerning Stormy Daniel's statuesque form. Which is fine, we all have our own thoughts as to what is funny. Then I got a DU Mail telling me that the post had been taken down for violating DU guidelines, with the ominous warning, "This is your second notice." It said I could appeal, but since I could understand their point of view I let the reprimand stand unchallenged.
I have been a member of DU since the year it was founded, and over that time have posted about 6,000 times, mostly links to articles relevant to the discussion at hand, sometimes images or videos I thought showed the funny side of the news (but never have I "Rick-Rolled" the website). A couple of times I have started a thread. Pretty much the standard stuff.
I didn't know DU had eliminated the moderators. I had thought that they were what kept DU civil and focused. The couple of times I was affected, I fully accepted the decisions of moderators and juries (do we still have those?). They were there to ensure the integrity of the board, and I appreciated their service.
So now I don't know who sent me the warning, and that bothers me.
I guess the words that stuck in my craw were "second notice." It's pretty ominous, isn't it? It seems threatening, and I find myself censoring myself in case someone else be offended, and I get whatever follows the second notice. Having been a journalist and lawyer, I already tend to be pretty careful of the words I use, and this feels really constrictive.
That's why I groused about the second notice thing. Sorry I didn't know about the mods.
