John Cornyn offers a bold, logical reason why Mueller doesn't need to be protected from Trump

Republicans dismiss legislation to protect special counsel

But GOP leaders saw no reason to leap to stop a firing they don't think is in sight.

"I don't think that's going to happen so I just think it's not necessary, and obviously legislation requires a presidential signature," said Texas Sen. John Cornyn, the No. 2 Republican in the Senate. "I don't see the necessity of picking that fight right now."

Still, Cornyn said there would be "a number of unintended consequences" if Mueller were to be removed, and lawmakers had communicated that message to Trump "informally and formally."

What a doofus. Hasn't he heard that Congress can override a veto?

Almost every Dem would sign on immediately so finding about 100 Rs in the House and about 20 in the Senate should not be that difficult if they truly wanted to protect Mueller.

“ let’s not dwell on the past”. “ if there are more then there will be consequences!”

And since these two luminaries are almost never wrong, and certainly not about anything important like impeaching a president or going to war (Are we STILL in Iraq 15 years later? Huh, go figure.), there's nothing to worry about.

Are you fucking shittin' me?!
