I doubt he would pardon trump unless it was his last day in office and he wanted a national image. Anything is possible though.

Rumor is that there are tapes of Trump using derogatory terms for women and minorities. Discovery in a legal proceeding is not limited by NDAs.

Let them work together, just like they did during the financial crisis. Lisa Madigan (Illinois AG) is on the way out, but she can still begin an inquiry.

the constitution prohibits the states from charging a sitting president.

He can charge everyone else, as well as trump companies though.

And no, he hasn't brought up any specific charges.

It's not explicitly called out. But there are a couple of clauses that imply that for certain classes of officials, they have to be tried in federal court, or rather, the federal courts have jurisdiction.

I'm not a constitutional scholar, or even a lawyer. So this is based on something I read a while back. It's the reason the civil suits against clinton (and now trump) were filed in federal court.

in federal courts. Certain issues must be tried in federal courts, but certain officials?

Please refer me to those provisions in the Constitution. Thanks.

article 3 section 2, as well as the supremacy clause.

Section 2 of Article III describes the jurisdiction of the federal courts. Jurisdiction is the power of a court to hear a case, so this section tells us what kinds of cases the Supreme Court and other federal courts will hear. All cases that arise under the Constitution, the laws of the United States or its treaties.

The Constitution does not prohibit a state court from hearing a case in which the president is a party.

Here. Read this:
xchttps://www.thedailybeast.com/due-process-closes-in-on-president-donald-trump-as-judge-lets-summer-zervos-suit-move-ahead?ref=home

No one is above the law. Certain matters are best tried in state courts. The federal courts hear certain kinds of cases limited in the Constitution.

Section 2 of Article III defines the jurisdiction of the federal courts to certain kinds of cases. A president can be tried in a state court. The Zervos case, for example does not arise under the federal Constitution or the federal laws or treaties. It arises under state law and can be tried in a state court.

The smartphone is plugged in at "supercharge" setting, and he's instructed the Cabinet that they can take a day off the customary 8PM ass-kissing session.

There's work to be done! (Just as soon as he finishes the Big Macs.)
