When do you think he will be gone? I read countless posts saying he would be dumped before the Republican convention, and then dumped by the electoral college. So far no one's crystal ball is working very well.

In any event a third party candidate like Kasich would likely split the R voter block and cause the Dem to win more total votes.

But..... will the Dems take the majority back in the House of Representatives.

____________

The Twelfth Amendment requires the House of Representatives to go into session immediately to vote for a president if no candidate for president receives a majority of the electoral votes (since 1964, 270 of the 538 electoral votes).

Kasich is only "moderate" in the insane world in which we now find ourselves. That anyone would call him "moderate" makes for a sad statement about where we are in this society.

Studies have made clear that most of today's so-called "independents" are actually more partisan than the average party-affiliated voter of decades past. They simply like calling themselves "independent."

Get Trump or Pence to appoint a moderate GOPer as VP, to ascend when they're gone, and that person might have a chance to stick around in 2020

Pretty sure the “women are only Tupperware for the sacred unborn” part is just a piece of it. Very anti-union, pro privatizating schools. Makes the occasional moderate noise so he looks reasonable compared to most of them.

But I don't see his having much of an effect on whomever the repub candidate will be. He can come off as smart and moderate (though he's not) - neither are qualities republicans hold in high regard these days.

Not a moderate. Kinda like George H.W. Bush. I think he would hurt Trump more if only in OH, MI, PA, and other rust belt states. I don't see him hurting the Dems much.
