Honestly if I were a betting man, I would bet high dollars and good odds that it's Roger Stone. No one has had a grudge against Hillary Clinton more than that asshole, and the thought of him making up bullshit about Hillary Clinton running a pedophile ring is so immature that I would immediately suspect he's the one behind it. But I wouldn't rule out Alex Jones or Jerome Corsi either. One of those assholes is Q. It's time to pull a Scooby Doo, take off the mask and show us all who you really are. Anyone else want to guess who Q is?

(149 posts)... because who has time for all that crap? It's someone who has a lot of time on their hands and enjoys stringing all these crazies along.

(58,785 posts)what Hillary Clinton was going to be.
She was way out ahead almost the entire race, and she was going to sweep Democrats into at least a majority in the senate on her Democratic Party coattails, and perhaps even take the house. While that was once unthinkable, by fall it was being thought of big time by expert analysts. When she was taken out our coattails collapsed also, and we lost both branches and a huge number of state and local offices.

(101,321 posts)and they just pump out weird messages designed to entice the loons at 4chan into constructing ever more ridiculous conspiracy theories. I don't think they posted before Trump's stupid "calm before the storm" remark.
That's the 'crap' this thread is about.

(100,080 posts)It's time to stop it. Let's find out who Q really is and hopefully we can stop the bullshit.
That's why i think it's someone involved with the Trump administration - someone who can stir the crazies while remaining anonymous. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Julian Assange either. That dude does have a wifi connection, a hatred of Hillary, and a lot of free time on his hands.
muriel_volestrangler
(101,321 posts)because then it would be an actual disinformation operation. "Someone who can stir the crazies while remaining anonymous" means "anyone". Anyone can post BS on 4chan and get them to believe it. Saying "we must find out who this is" gives them too much credit. They are not posting anything real, so there is no need to assume there is any connection with any known person.

(100,080 posts)It's true that any jackass can post shit anonymously on any message board. But conspiracy theories don't favor us, and this is true. But how does something like "The Storm" not only get believed, but passed around enough to gain media traction?
There's someone on 4chan with media connections that is getting this crap spread around. Conspiracy theories don't just pop up on a message board, and then all of a sudden you have half the country believing it, no matter how baseless. Ive been around the internet enough to know that it doesn't work that way.

(101,321 posts)It's the kind of thing a bot network is good at spreading - just repeating any old thing. 4chan was known for expertise in using bots long before Russia was - look at this from 9 years ago: https://techcrunch.com/2009/04/21/4chan-takes-over-the-time-100/

(100,080 posts)It could be Putin's troll bot army spreading this nonsense. He has found a way to weaponize social media and that is scary.

(950 posts)we've never heard of - a complete unknown.
The nom de plume this person has chosen is interesting; two meanings immediately spring to mind. "Q" is often used in Christian theological circles to refer to the Q Document, or Quelledokument, a hypothetical original source document for the New Testament's synoptic Gospels of Matthew and Luke. Of course, "Q" is also quite famously the recurring character played by John de Lancie in Star Trek: The Next Generation - and a member of the Q Continuum, a species of extra-dimensional beings who are, by human standards, essentially omnipotent and omniscient.
Personally, I think Q is simply a deeply disturbed conspiracy theorist who just came along at the right place at the right time and is probably privately reveling in his - or her - anonymous fame.
That's just my take on it.....your mileage may vary.

(100,080 posts)Because Sinclair is trying to pass off the Trump conspiracy theory bullshit as legitimate news and is forcing nearly all of their stations to report this crap. I think if we pull the mask off who Q really is, it would delegitimize "The Storm", Pizzagate, and all of the other shit we've been forced to put up with.
muriel_volestrangler
(101,321 posts)Anyway, I don't see how you are going to be able to get any evidence on who 'Q' is. You don't run 4chan or an ISP, so you're not going to have the necessary IP addresses. You don't have the power to unmask all users of the internet.
Initech
(100,080 posts)What John Oliver was saying that Sinclair forces its' stations to report on certain issues. And they are trying to normalize the conspiracy theory bullshit by reporting on "The Storm" and other nonsense.
I think if we cut the bullshit off at the source, it would stop media outlets like Sinclair from trying to normalize it. And I'm not saying out all of the internet, just whoever Q is.

(101,321 posts)to go after anyone on the internet.
If you see TV stations trying to report on "The Storm" as anything other than stupid conspiracy theory, then go after the stations. Because you know who they are, and they want to have a reputation as believable news outlets, so that companies advertise with them. But you are unable to shut down 4chan, so it's pointless you wishing that you could.

(100,080 posts)Anyone can create shit like "The Storm" but getting half the country to believe it? I know Trump supporters will believe just about anything but this? The only way is if Q was a media insider or even a White House insider.
