(26,060 posts)A couple of inches up there already - 4-6 expected, streets and sidewalks in midtown Manhattan all slushy. Saw that forecast for Saturday, perhaps another storm. But 60 degrees on Wednesday. Just sitting here and shaking my head.

(17,622 posts)...because snow tires were due to be taken off march 30. So all the college kid/families heading from eastern to western wash during Easter weekend... were stranded!

(65,076 posts)My winter car, which i don't park in the garage (convertible sitting in there with top down, sigh) had frost all over the metal surfaces and some on the windshield.
On April 2nd!
I know it's happened before, but we also rarely had 50 degree days in January and frost on the car in April.
But, there's no climate change.

I was driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas with my best friend, and we had to switch drivers before getting to the I-15, as the Cajon Pass was snowed over, and my friend had never driven in snow before.
As we approached the Cajon Pass, I wanted to stop and take a picture of the road sign that said "Avoid Overheating: Turn off Air Conditioning next 11 miles"; it was covered in snow.

(2,221 posts)We were in New Smyrna Beach about a month ago. It was lovely and warm. I got to wear my capris and flip flops- got into summer mode in a hurry! Then we came home. Sigh. Cold, dreary, cloudy, rainy, snowy... If it wasnt for leaving my darling grands, Id move down there in a heartbeat- for the weather, the ocean and the palm trees!

(42,334 posts)We'll be there at the end of the month for a family reunion.
We've gone to New Smyrna about 5 times. Love to eat at Norwood's.

(110 posts)We had a huge snowstorm on Easter Sunday in the northeast in 1968. What is crazy is 4 noreasters in March, 2018. That's the problem. Our town had 1 major flood from 1959-1984. We have had at least 4 since then- 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011-with Tropical Storm Irene destroying half of it! Hurricane Sandy is the famous storm, but Irene did tons of damage in Northern NJ. The storms are getting much more frequent and worse as time goes by.

(15,810 posts)Its slowly warming up- hitting 60s now and then and no longer likely to freeze.
I planted carrots, beets and radishes yesterday. My leek, chard and kale seedlings are hardening off on my porch. I spread a cubic yard of mulch Saturday and weeded a bit yesterday.
Its raining this week but heck its the PNW. I think its snowing at >1000 but that isnt unseasonal.
Weve seen a trend towards warmer and drier.

(28,208 posts)I saw it was going to snow last night and today, so I couldn't apply the agent (living in a wooded development).
This weekend was going to be my next chance to to it. Soon, it will jump straight to 90 degree weather.
I still have lawn prep to do before it gets too hot.

(2,769 posts)In early May, 1978 we had a pretty big snowstorm. And since the trees had leaves, the weight of the snow brought down branches and wires and knocked out power.
I distinctly remember being out of power for a week. At least, it wasn't too cold.

I finally get it! The reductio ad absurdum question, though always meaningless and irrelevant, is great fun (never mind its petulance)! And it throws shade as well. Two birds and all.
