Health Department removes breast cancer and Obamacare info from womens health website

Think Progress
Amanda Gomez
April 2, 2018

The Department of Health and Human Service’s (HHS) Office on Women’s Health removed a webpage dedicated to breast cancer and other helpful reproductive health information, including important insurance information for low-income people, according to a new report.

The Sunlight Foundation’s Web Integrity Project first reported the missing webpage. The group has been documenting page or link removals from the OWH website and shared its most recent report with ThinkProgress.

This breast cancer page did serve as a repository of links dedicated to this disease, like “Breast cancer symptoms”, “Screening and diagnosis”, “Breast cancer risk factors and prevention”, and “Government in action.” Informational pages and factsheets about the disease can’t be found elsewhere on the OWH website, according to the Sunlight Foundation’s comprehensive review.

Cheeto and company are pro cancer. Especially if it strikes low income women.

that they are not able to apprehend that it will make life better for everyone. i think of John Kelly waxing nostalgic over how women used to be "honored" - yeah right. chattel is more like it.

“The pages were removed on December 6, 2017 because content was not mobile-friendly and very rarely used,” an HHS spokesperson told ThinkProgress

“sister HHS agencies… have the same information in a much more user-friendly format on their websites.”

As if it costs them much to keep the information posted just in case someone needs it.

We are facing a war on information and education. There is no reason to make this information harder to find. Conservative women get breast cancer too. It's not like liberal sinful living leads to breast cancer.

That way they don't have to pay social security which equals more money he can stal for himself and the rich. that this is about women dying is probably also a bonus for him since he hates any woman who isn't currently spanking him.

Trump and his lackeys are too purposely ignorant to know/care about that little tidbit of medical science, however.

I know many people, women and men, who died of breast cancer over the last 7 years, since I was diagnosed with early stage bc. They all had good insurance, a few were quite wealthy. This scum administration better be careful what it wishes for.

the wealthy that I know have access to better care, better doctors and tend to live longer than "we lesser beings" (tongue in cheek).
That is anecdotal, so take it for what it's worth.

I have great insurance, always got regular mammograms, and yet my breast cancer was missed for at least 3 years. Even a biopsy, 3 years before diagnosis, on the same spot where it was eventually found, came out benign. A year before diagnosis, the mammogram missed it. Fortunately it was a slow growing cancer so, 7 years later, I am NED (no evidence of disease). But if I'd had an aggressive form I might very well be dead by now.

The Christian right are Calvinists on steroids. They believe in predetermination. The poor are poor because God wills it. The rich are rich because God loves them more. Since the poor are predetermined to be poor why waste good money on helping them when that money can go to the rich who are more loved by God.
