It's past time for the Democrats to talk with the Republicans.

And it's way past time for the Republicans to listen.

There is a threat to our democracy sitting in the White House. It's beyond politics. It's beyond Democrats or Republicans. It is about the security of our country.

Even as Robert Mueller investigates what happened with Russia during the election, Donald Trump smirks and invites Vladimir Putin to visit him personally. One more instance where we get much of the information from the Kremlin, instead of the White House. There are big questions and they must be answered.

The Republicans should no longer be permitted to run and hide. Democrats should request, in no uncertain terms, that the Republicans have a talk with their President and to inform him that he needs to step down from the Presidency. It is either now or later.

There is enough evidence to convict Donald Trump in a court of law and he should step down immediately. The Republicans need to inform Mr Trump that we need to move this country forward and his division and reckless hyperbole are hurting our country and can no longer be tolerated.

If the Republicans refuse to act, which is probably the case, then they have been warned. They have been notified of the situation and the ball is now in their court. No more running and hiding.

The Democrats should get off the dime on this issue, in my opinion.

3. The dice have already been rolled. Repub leaders will do nothing. The only answer is at the polls.

why do we keep revisiting this issue and thinking things will change. They won't. The one and only answer is to vote them out.

8. Lol, sure it is a big problem. What frustrates me is that people think Repubs will abandon him.

They will not. They can not hope to win against a viable Democratic candidate unless they have the Trump vote. Nothing has changed. They can't lose that Trump demographic and hope to stay in power. That is what is so frustrating to me with all this early Bernie crap. I will tell you here and now that if Bernie Sanders is the Democratic nominee he has my vote. If it is someone else they have my vote. Big deal. Repubs do not have to deal with that unless......Mueller.....Stormy........IRS...then we get Pence and start over. or...maybe the whole damn bunch resigns or faces prison....best case scenario.

The Republicans need to accept responsibility for this mess. Democrats are silent. Perhaps they think that is the best strategy? It is not a very courageous position, in my opinion. They should put the ball squarely in the court of the Republicans. If something happens and they do nothing, it is they that are to blame, not the Democrats. Although we would all suffer and are suffering from this dotard, it is the responsibility of the Republicans to protect our Republic. If they fail....

Should they?, could they? those are other questions.

And a group of Democrats that came knocking at their door demanding they voluntarily bring down the one that got them to the dance, the one their voters adore in a messiah like way, ...well, they'd be laughed off the door step.

And the leaders of the Democratic Party have done nothing to put any pressure on the Republican leaders.

You are correct that the Republicans do not want to do anything to upset the one that brought them to the dance. However, they should not be so comfortable.

Democrats would not expect them to do anything. But it is not about them. It is about us. All of us.

If something terrible happens under this insane leader, the Republicans need to feel some tiny sense of responsibility. That is something the Democrats can do. They can inform the Republicans of the huge gamble they are taking with our country.

There is a big political price to pay. Not just for Republicans, but for Democrats also, if nothing is done.

5. Republicans listen?

Seriously?

Republicans are Trump. Trump is the embodiment of the Republican party. Plus, they are shaking in their boots with fear of offending the cult they started that now bows to the Dotard.

They will listen to nothing. Democrats cannot afford to waste their time trying.

Whether or not the Republicans listen is up to them. But, the responsibility for maintaining this threat in office is squarely on their shoulders. Democrats should refuse to carry their water.

7. Sounds like it's time for another demonstration in Washington to welcome Putin and to let him know
Mon Apr 2, 2018, 09:27 PM

unlike his p*ssy Trump, we don't like him, and he's not welcome in our Capital. The GOP Congress if they had any balls, would make it clear to the Dotard, "No official dinners. No parades." Because you know the Dotard will try to impress Putin, and the public demonstrators will impress him by letting him know he is not welcome.

10. The Republicans crossed the Rubicon long ago
Mon Apr 2, 2018, 10:15 PM

Reagan's October Surprise was when the Republicans announced they weren't going to play by the rules anymore. The illegal war in Nicaragua that followed illustrates this. They had no honor, but at least they still had an ideology, albeit a twisted one. Newt Gingrich's war on the democratic process through gerrymandering, voter suppression and vote tally manipulation ensured Republican control at the local level in most states of the country. They began dismantling state governments over twenty years ago and stopped paying for roads and sewers and bridges. Now we've arrived at the point that anyone that doesn't 'believe' becomes by defalt a part of the 'Deep State' or it's pawn. Black is white and day is night.

11. Democrats Have Been Trying to Talk to rethugs
Mon Apr 2, 2018, 11:02 PM
Apr 2018

but they won't listen. When they closed the investigation on Russian interference in the election with "nothing found," do you really think that the Democrats said "Cool! Lunch!" - is that what you think? I remember seeing Democratic committee members on the news shows frustrated as hell with the majority members.

Democrats have been shouting themselves hoarse, but rethugs refuse to listen. What now?

Everyone is frustrated, I have no doubt. I just happen to think that silence and saying nothing and doing nothing is not the appropriate response at this time. Republicans need to feel some heat.

Since you know that "There is enough evidence to convict Donald Trump in a court of law" you're clearly ahead of his investigation.

you know and I know that he has done enough to be a threat to us all. That alone is enough to do something, don't you agree?

I simply cannot agree with the strategy of doing nothing and just wait. Silence.

I think the Republican leadership should be criticized severely for what is happening. That does not seem like too much to ask, in my opinion.
