Things ain't in tippy-top shape.

Last edited Tue Apr 3, 2018, 08:36 PM - Edit history (1)

Does anyone else wonder exactly why he said this? Why he doesn't realize that as president, people pay attention to what he says? That tippy-top comment...you could tell that he just kind of puked it up out of nowhere.

"This isn't normal" does not cut it anymore. "The man is a dangerous psychopath who cannot be removed by any constitutional method" is more accurate, and this needs to be the new catch phrase with the media. Not "This isn't normal", not "Trump has his own way of doing things". But rather..."Mr. Trump's actions indicate that he is a psychopath and here is why".

The real problem is not the tippy-top comment though. The real problem is that America has been so gaslighted, for so long, that everything just seems like another crazy Trump action with no consequences. I see many pundits on cable news laughing, shaking their heads and giggling. I think they should stop laughing.

The guy has invited Putin to the White House, knowing that he destroyed what may have been left of our fair election system. Knowing that he is currently sowing chaos to everything from the information we receive, to the safety of our nuclear energy plants.

Trump does not have a plan for anything, and he changes his mind every time he takes a piss. He has a personal vendetta against Jeff Bezos, and his mouth moved Amazon's stock today by a substantial amount. His trade policies are slowly crashing the markets, because no one can figure out exactly what his policies are.

And the above mentioned things are just what has happened in the past 24 hours or so.

His base is happy as long as they can keep posting their "David Hogg is Hitler" memes. And the worst part? They actually believe this stuff. It may only be 30% of the people in this country who believe it, but 30% of the population being dead fucking stupid is a real problem. Many of these people are too far gone to ever come back to normal, and they are teaching their kids how to be stupid.

The movement started by the young people who will be on the right side of history is a beautiful thing. However, even though you and I know they are right and moral, they will always be hated by the 30%, no matter the positive outcome of their protests. My fear is that we have been irreparably divided.

Nothing is being done at the governmental levels to address this division. In fact, this administration is worsening it. I hope that the last few decades of my life do not have to be spent doing my own little part to try to correct this, but I think this is how things will be.

The last few days or so have been some of the most frightening in my eyes. Things are not in tippy-top shape.

I usually do not get frightened, but I am now. I think it was the Putin invite that put me over the edge.

I just posted wondering how we escape that 30%, that 30% who have no fucking clue what they will be believing tomorrow, without violence.

Depressing week.

I'm sure he has done worse things, but something about his recent actions are shaking me to the core.

How the Nazis persuaded German people that Jews and Slavs were sub-human vermin? How Nazis persuaded people to venerate and swear personal loyalty to one man? How Nazis persuaded Germans to burn books, destroy art that didn't support the Nazi vision.

Well we're seeing the same fear and hate mongering work right here.

I agree, and everyone else needs to accept that it is a waste of time trying to reach them or convert them. With some intensive, 1-on-1 discussions, could a small percentage be persuaded to recognize the error of their ways? Probably. But the amount of time and energy required would simply not be worth it.

Instead, it's best to focus on registering people to vote, combating voter suppression, getting involved in local organizations, etc. And Democrats in office need to make it clear - every time they are on TV or the radio or interviewed for an article - that the Trump-led Republican Party poses a danger to all life on this planet. Forget about trying to be diplomatic. Forget about worrying that you'll be accused of not taking the high road. Just tell it like it is. Likewise, US journalists can learn a thing or two from Der Spiegel.

They have no decency nor do they have any compassion - they don't even have a sense of self preservation. They're just happy that they now have a dictator in place and it gives them some sort of perverse comfort to believe his lies. They make me want to throw up!

lose faith in Mueller. It feels like he is never going to get this web sorted out. I am becoming fearful that by the time he is certain of who to indict, king con will have stumble/blundered the entire mess to another level. And the republicants will be whistling pass the Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials. The democrats will still have no power to get anything accomplished.

The California growing season should be in full swing with summer coming on but I believe the produce prices are going to be through the roof because of the fear king con has spread among the immigrant communities. Buy some seed packets and get planting.

They could have done it day one on emoluments alone.

Each day, they choose to do nothing.

So perhaps we should consider that they are not bystanders,

nor helpless.

But rather, they are fully complicit.
