(4,492 posts)Guest bed so I didn't notice it until I stripped the bed.
Honestly of all the pillows on the bed, it was the worst. It holds awkward shapes easily.

(1,216 posts)Just took an old pillow, cut it open on one edge,
took all material out, discarded about 1/3 of it, cut remaining into balls between 1 inch and 2 inch diameters, put it back into the shell, sowed it up.
The pillow now molds to my head shape better,
so is more comfortable. Before, it put too much
pressure on my head.

(29,669 posts)Curious as to how it would work for a stomach and side sleeper.......most companies indicate the soft or hardness determines how you sleep. I've got my old feather pillow which works pretty good for both side and stomach. I do get it re-filled every 5 - 6 years though.

(1,216 posts)The old pillow I cut up had one big piece of polyester sponge material. Problem with one big piece is it exerts continuous force on your head. If it is firm, it gives me a headache. If it is too soft, my neck will bend. By using loose pieces of material inside pillow (similar to feathers)
we get the softness to mold around the head, but will also hold the shape through the night. That is basically the theory behind that "my pilllow".
Only thing is every 2-3 days I have to re-shape the pillow, but it only takes 10-15 seconds.

It may be the most comfortable pillow youll ever own, but MyPillow cant help with snoring, fibromyalgia, migraines or any other medical conditions.
The company behind the legendary infomercial got a wake-up call this week when it was fined $1 million for deceptive advertising practices, charges brought by prosecutors in nine California counties.
Ads for MyPillow are everywhere: The company spends $1.4 million a week on advertising, and more than 18 million pillows have been sold since the company was started 10 years ago, according to a story in the Boston Herald.
But the Minnesota-based company can no longer claim its products can cure, prevent or treat any diseases without reliable scientific proof. It will pay civil penalties of $995,000 and donate $100,000 to shelters for the homeless and domestic violence victims.
It may indeed be fluffy, but according to a recent lawsuit, the My Pillow does not help with cerebral palsy, PTSD, or acid reflux.
We will hold accountable companies that makes false claims to get consumers to buy their products, Jeff Rosen, Santa Clara County District Attorney, said in a statement.
The California lawsuit alleged that when MyPillow said it could help with certain medical conditions, the company knew or reasonably should have known these statements were untrue or misleading.
We did nothing wrong. We did not make any misleading claims, MyPillow CEO Michael Lindell told NBC News. Rather than fight this, I made a business decision to prevent long and costly litigation, pay this and move on.................

(3,363 posts)Definitely a horrible company. Hope he goes out of business. I hear Costco carries the pillow. Should probably contact them and ask them to remove it.
