My understanding is that this gives Mueller leeway to bring additional charges if he fails to be productive enough.

Don't know how this affects his license to practice law but it can't do it any good.

I spent more time than that reading that lengthy report of all the things that he did, and he did quite a lot. He lied repeatedly. He destroyed documents. I'm sure that this will harm Mueller's reputation with other people involved since they could come to the conclusion, and rightfully so, that it's easier to either not cooperate with the Special Counsel, or lie and take their chances. If they're caught, they spend 30 days in the slammer. Big f*cking deal. If it were me as a subject of a Mueller investigation, I wouldn't even waste my money hiring a lawyer and going into debt. I'd just act as my own attorney and take my chances. Is Mueller suddenly a Paper Tiger, than the Special Counsel to be feared that we all thought he was?

subsequently was obstructing/lying. The 30 days is for the second instance.

there's plenty more he could be charged with, he hasn't been "yet".

Also too, if you don't like the sentence, take it up with the judge*, not Mueller.

*although he could only impose a max of 6 months

van der Zwann was sentenced in line with his offense and his lack of a criminal record. That placed his potential sentence between 0 and 6 months. Somebody in this zone will often get probation.
