Letters to my local Sinclair News Station
February 12, 2018
Dear KATU Decision Makers,
I have been a fan of KATU local news for, literally, decades. Your anchors and reporters and meteorologists have felt like family to me, especially after becoming widowed. So it is with genuine sorrow that I feel I can no longer watch your daily evening newscasts, nor KATU in general, due to your tacit endorsement of assault weapons by permitting the advertising of such on your news station. I can only view such a move on the part of KATU as pandering to crass monetary expediency and a shameful example of moral irresponsibility and cowardice. You know that you are better than this. That said, should you change your policy, I will gladly return as a regular viewer.

Dead, injured and traumatized school children. Need one say more?
I received no response from KATU to either message. As such, I now get local news from a different station and missed the cringeworthy experience of seeing two local anchors whom I once admired prostituting their professionalism.
With all due respect to the great Dan Rather, Im with Mika on this and just dont buy the just following orders excuse.
