As soon as Trump's proposal to use the military to "guard the border" is slowed or stopped by

the courts, does anyone doubt that the various Rambo wannabes in the militias will flock to the border to "protect 'Murika"? Is Trump's rhetoric anything less than an invitation to "patriots" to mete out vigilante justice?

but aren't troops on the boarders actually part of the job for the Department of Defense (you know protecting our borders from attack).

It brings me back to when the Department of Homeland Security was first proposed. So what is the Department of Defense for? I think some Republican politician asked that question.

To Circumvent the Posse Comitatus Act, They will deploy troops to assist in border patrol agents with security, not enforce it. The sight of troops alone will hinder many from trying to cross.
