FYI: I was just at the social sercurity office to get a new card. They guy told me my

Medicare card, all of them, is being replaced in the next month. Maybe you all already knew, but I didn’t. They are putting new numbers on the card and taking off the SS numbers. Lot of work for all the medical people, but I never understood them using SS numbers.

If you are getting Supplemental Insurance Check the back of your Medicare book.

It lists different plans for your area and makes finding the best deal easy.

Just check the different plans listed.

read and heard that for a while now. I saw advertising on tv last year that they will be replaced. Recently I read they will start issuing them this month and it will take until next April for everyone to receive them. I’ve also heard on local news there are scams already. People are calling folks and saying they are Medicare and need more personal information like your social security # to process your new card. Don’t fall for it. Some even want to charge you to do it. They said of course Medicare will never contact you in this matter.

an identification number, or a source of identification. Corporate America made it so. That's why so many people's SS numbers are stolen, and even sold, to crooks trying to get bogus credit cards, make bogus credit card purchases etc. It's actually illegal to require a SS number for any application for credit, but just try getting credit without one. It's next to impossible.

Most ask for the last 4 Digits.

Almost everything is online now. They ask your name and date of birth. Your record is right there.

I hope they are plastic and a normal size rather than the over sized paper ones that don't fit anywhere!

I'm constantly having to give my doctor's offices new cards to copy, so it doesn't worry me that the Medicare card will be a different one. I've been on the same dental plan for several years - I misplaced my card, ordered a new one and it is all different numbers. Since my husband had given his dentist office the old one, when he took the new one in, we got a check for $54.

Apparently the last visit was denied because of old numbers - but they never sent us a new card until I lost the old one!

Insurance.

You will get a Medicare Advantage carcd from the Insurance company. But you must keep your Medicare card safe.

For those who do not know in many areas you can get an MHO Insurance for Zero a Month.PPO’s can be as low as $70 a month. You need to check the back of your Medicare book to compare.

In the HMO you just need to make sure your Doctors are there. Most are anymore, and the Insurance has improved every year since the beginning of the ACA.

You know, that bill Republicans want to kill?

I have checked many. The terms get better every year.

The Insurance company notified me they had adjusted to the ACA and we would get more benifits each year. They have kept that promise.

This year co- pay for Primary Doctor went from $10 to $5. Specialist, 45 to 40, new basic Dental, prescriptions. Hearing Aids, up to $3000. Liability half what those still working pay.
