Just a very fiery interview on MSNBC with a OK teacher about the consequences of

inadequate funding to him personally and to his his classroom. During the interview he said he was a Republican and I think he stated in the interview he will remain one (it was kind of unclear as he started rambling about voting for a fence post).

C'mon wake the f... up.

Jeez!

The republicans want to destroy the teachers union and privatized the school system. This fool lives in a state where the republican government has demonized teachers as brainwashers and glorified babysitters. The republicans have ruined the state with trickle down policies. What possible reason could he give for being a republican?

always vote (R) no matter what. Single issue voters as well.

I had a friend (not a close friend, but a friend) that was morbidly obese and passed away in his mid 40s a few years back due to weight related health issues. He was actually liberal on most social issues - pro choice, suspicious of any religion, had no problems with gay marriage... however, he loved his guns and always, always, always voted Republicans because he believed that Democrats were out to take his guns.

But, maybe if he, and others like him, had been voting (D) all along instead of against their own interests, we'd have gotten something like Obamacare under a President Gore and his obesity and related issues may have been taken care of years ago before it was too late.

He did also say he would do "whatever it takes" to hold the incumbents "accountable." Not sure if that included voting for Democrats.

That 5th grade teacher said he had a masters degree but had to work at second low wage jobs because teaching doesn't provide him a paycheck to live on. He went on to complain about shortages of basic school supplies, like text books. Then he said he would rather vote for a fencepost if it had an "R" on it, rather than another Republican who didn't support education.

Anything but a Democrat, right?

This is how Republicans think. Whatever it is that man has have against Democrats it is baked indeep and down to the bone. People like him will never even consider voting for someone who checks off on all the important issues he wants, just because they are a Democrat.

Maybe the best we can hope for is that he throws in the towel and doesn't vote. I dunno, how do we reach someone like that?

most of whom are running UNOPPOSED. They spend more time passing unconstitutional laws then laws that will actually help the people of Oklahoma. If teachers want change in Education funding then they need to take a page out of the Parkland students' playbook and vote these idiots out. As long as Republicans control State Government I doubt much will change.

I have no sympathy for Republicans in this state. They got exactly what they voted for. They are just dragging the rest of us down with them.

Maybe Teacher Shitferbrains could get a little education about which party would serve him and his students and their families better. The Democrats could bring in a nationally-known Democrat to really bring the heat and the message. Say, wasn't Elizabeth Warren a resident of Oklahoma once upon a time? I'm biased, but I think she's more attractive than a fence post on about a gazillion different levels.

Democrats could be standing beside and behind the teachers, chatting with the local media folks directly. Get their platform in the news reports without being filtered through Fox or Sinclair. Might just turn one or two people around; you never know.
