Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has reportedly told President Donald Trump’s attorneys that the president is not a criminal target of the probe, but he remains under investigation. According to The Washington Post, Mueller also told the president’s legal team that “he is preparing a report about the president’s actions while in office and potential obstruction of justice.” The special counsel is reportedly still seeking to interview Trump as part of the investigation—namely, to figure out whether he sought to criminally obstruct the probe. Trump attorney John Dowd, who vigorously opposed such a move, resigned last month, in part over disagreements about the president's legal strategy.
