But I'm so happy for Rebecca's family and friends that some measure of recognition was given to the way the police and medical examiner seemed to go against common sense in their handling of this case. I think that the people in charge wanted to protect the rich guy and somehow did that with a straight face.

2. It was deemed a whitewash very early on.

Seems even more now.

As details started to emerge years ago, I knew something was bad wrong when it was discovered that the lead detective, an awarded Asian female agent, did not even attend to the autopsy, probably the best peer on scene that Rebecca Zahau had in the midst of the San Diego Sheriff's Office investigators. And this in such a celebrated case (national attention).

Many might not know what else happened, and as such was presented as evidence early on and recently during the trial.

She was beat on the head. Hogtied. Sexually violated with the handle of a steak knife. She was both manually strangulated then hung, from the ground up. A fall from the 2cd story balcony likely would have decapitated her. Experts testified that the cryptic painted message was not hers , but that of her killer. Same with the knot bindings, him being a tugboat captain. A t-shirt was shoved in her mouth. A key piece of supposed evidence was that of a text message sent to her which drove her to suicide. It does not exist. Signs that dna/fingerprints were wiped clean. Neighbor hearing cries for help about the assumed time of death (ignored as nothing). It goes on and on. Scores of items in evidence not analyzed, including tossed panties.

How about her body being left exposed the entire day and neighbors taking snapshots from rooftops. Asian porn retrieved on or about the killers stay at the mansion. He later freely admitted to jacking off the morning of her death. Took an ambien as well.

Let it be known that this case was pleaded to the office of Kamala Harris, then the state attorney. No dice.

Wtf.

After todays just verdict, there is a new plea from the Zahau family and attorney to re-open the case, and have the San Diego Police Department investigate, not the Sheriffs Office.
