As the Arctic gets buffeted by warming global temps and sends streamers of frigid air south over swaths of the USA you will hear the chorus of stupidity claiming, "So much for 'global warming'".
You can set your clock by it.#globalwarming

(16,199 posts)As the Arctic transitions from a relatively cold state to a warmer one, the frequency of severe winter weather in mid-latitudes increases through the transition. However, this relationship is strongest in the eastern US and mixed to even opposite along the western US. We also show that during mid-winter to late-winter of recent decades, when the Arctic warming trend is greatest and extends into the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere, severe winter weatherincluding both cold spells and heavy snowsbecame more frequent in the eastern United States.

(29,204 posts)which will cause regional climate change.
Not to mention that the gulf stream is being chilled by the meltwater from Greenland which will cause cooling in northern Europe.
Wicked climate change... caused by global warming.
Some areas will be colder... but massive areas will be warmer, including the polar regions.
Drought patterns will change but there will be more water in the atmosphere (already there) in total... because warmer air holds more moisture.
My only fear is that it will happen FASTER than the majority of climate scientists predicted but SLOWER than was stated the "sky is falling" non-scientists who were spreading this FUD just so climate deniers could walk a snowball onto the Senate floor and say "see, what global warming".
