S.C. Republicans introduce bill to consider secession over gun rights

A group of Republican state legislators in South Carolina introduced a measure Thursday that would allow the state to secede from the United States if the federal government began to seize legally purchased firearms in the state.

The bill, which was referred to the state House Judiciary Committee on Thursday, would allow South Carolina lawmakers to debate whether to secede from the United States if the federal government were to violate the Second Amendment.

It states that "the general assembly shall convene to consider whether to secede from the United States based upon the federal government's unconstitutional violation of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution if the federal government confiscates legally purchased firearms in this state."

The measure, introduced by GOP Reps. Mike Pitts, Jonathon Hill and Ashley Trantham, comes amid an intense debate over the nation's gun laws that was reignited in February after a deadly mass shooting in Parkland, Fla.

We will NOT make the same mistakes Lincoln made and allow the sons of bitches to go back to a normal existence...you want to secede? Be my fucking guest, but when you are on the gallows before you swing, I will be there to heckle and remind you of your folly.

However, it was among his wishes that the leadership of the Confederacy was not hunted down and made an example of...he was interested in healing and restoring the union. Lincoln was a statesman and a great man...I am neither and am much incline to seek vengeance than he would have been...it is not one of my more admirable traits to be sure...

As far as they are concerned, the Civil War -- or as they call it, "The War of Northern Aggression," has never ended. While I would love to see the state secede, giving us back our military bases and moving Boeing's manufacturing plant from North Charleston to the United States, it's got some really nice beaches I would miss.

to secede, if shrunken aliens dance the Watusi on flying pigs, wearing lipstick and Pink Brand panties. Both the pigs and the aliens.

That's how likely it is for the Feds to seize legally purchased guns.

Geez.

to seize legally purchased firearms in the state."

This, I have no doubt, originates directly from the NRA, and it's just to gin up gun sales. Because the idiots go out and buy a new gun every time anyone says, "Federal government" and "seize guns" in the same sentence.

It's like they have strings and the NRA pulls them to get them to do whatever the NRA wants.

A bit of history Mr. Pitts, Mr. Hill, and oh, and Ashley Trantham - dear Ashley...

In an event that is generally regarded as marking the end of the Civil War, Confederate General Edmund Kirby Smith, commander of Confederate forces west of the Mississippi, signs the surrender terms offered by Union negotiators

- was it the Union negotiator you didn't like? -

With Smiths surrender, the last Confederate army ceased to exist, bringing a formal end to the bloodiest four years in U.S. history.

Is this what you might have in mind....The American Civil War began on April 12, 1861, when

Confederate shore batteries under General Pierre G.T. Beauregard opened fire on Union-held Fort Sumter in South Carolina’s Charleston Bay.

Should we relive this....chose your battles carefully -

During 34 hours, 50 Confederate guns and mortars launched more than 4,000 rounds at the poorly supplied fort, and on April 13 U.S. Major Robert Anderson, commander of the Union garrison, surrendered.

Sounds like a sucker punch to me...

Two days later, U.S. President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation calling for 75,000 volunteer soldiers to help quell the Southern “insurrection.”

Four long years later, the Confederacy was defeated at the total cost of 620,000 Union and Confederate dead.

keep them thar rebels all riled up or.....run on real issues.....you decide..but then - aren't there laws against secession - There's No Way To Secede From The United States - please inform your troops...

a failed idea from the past. A sure sign of the general insanity that's infected the Republican Party. But please, proceed gentlemen. Treason appears to be in vogue this season.
