If/when the National Guard is sent to the border ...

Men and women of the National Guard, when not training or called up for duty, are holding down regular jobs and/or attending college.

They are mothers and fathers, our family members, coworkers, next door neighbors.

Taking them out of their regular daily routine to satisfy the crazed ideas of an insane President will be disruptive in so many ways, to so many people;
socially disruptive, and economically disruptive to them and us.

Here in Albuquerque, N.M. the local news said it could take away 75 men and women from our already understaffed police force.

Just my 2¢.

In fact, he probably wishes a few would be killed. Makes for great red meat for his deplorables.

They won’t deploy full units. They will determine what structure they need and send out a call for volunteers in those MOS’s and grades.

That’s how all previous missions on the border stuffed by the NG have been done, going back to the 90’s at least.

that's not what we are here for."

Sadly, I suspect a lot of white wing Guard will volunteer.

There was no volunteering involved.
They were told when and where to show up.
Period.

And that's why A.P.D. may be shorted 75 members.

estimated Police Departments in Utah,Nevada, and Arizona. Some many Men and Women in Police Work use the National Guard as a Second income. Mostly because of there Policies Guarantying the effected person his or her's position when returning from any deployment.

This kind they use volunteers

Deployments where an entire unit goes overseas or to anywhere else as a unit they don’t do that.

Including being on the logistics side of these kinds of things.

These kinds of missions are nothing new, and the way they staff them will not be any different.

One reason they will do it that way is that it will allow them to specify certain skill sets, like looking for Spanish speakers.

It may be as you see it.
That's not how the local police department says it will be.

But I'm not going to debate the issue further.

As I said, we shall see.

I fail to see the urgency of calling the NG to the thousands of miles long US/Mexicoborder.

Why are they being called there?

Is there a National Disaster? A war?

Will they have ground to air artillery to stop planes flying overhead?

My husband was Army National Guard, ended up in Iraq for an entire year. They did not care.
