And yet, like anything appreciated only after it is gone, Neccos are suddenly having a moment.
For Candy Fans, the Only Thing Worse Than Necco Wafers Is No Necco Wafers
Last month, the New England Confectionery Co.creators of the iconic wafer since 1847 and the oldest continually operated candy maker in the U.S.served notice to its hometown of Revere, Mass., that it would close operations in May if it didnt find a new owner.
More importantly, no Necco would mean no SKY BARs...

(9,782 posts)They were all made at the same time decades ago there are warehouses full of both circus peanuts and candy corn. They let out a little of the stock slowly and methodically as to not deplete them too soon. Ive heard from sterling sources there are at least 5 decades of both left in stock

This is frightening news.

(15,265 posts)I think they must be an acquired taste. My brother and sister and I would buy them now and then. They were cheap and lasted a long time. I hope that someone buys the company.
