During the entire time that Bill Clinton was being investigated for Whitewater, which led to an investigation into his affair with Monica Lewinsky that ultimately led to impeachment, he never shirked his duties as President and Commander-in-Chief.
He never used his position as POTUS to whine and complain about his predicament; he never allowed the goings-on around him to distract from governing the country, or from doing the peoples business nor did the Democrats in office ever point to those ongoing investigations as an excuse to not execute their own duties as elected officials.
Since Trump has been under investigation, the constant cry from the Republicans has been that he cant pursue his so-called agenda due to the dark cloud hanging over his administration, and they themselves cant pursue the important business of the nation as a result thereof.
So the obvious questions are: Why was Bill Clinton able to competently and successfully do his job as POTUS under circumstances that Trump cant function under at all? Why is the Republican party claiming they are prevented from doing the peoples business because their pResident is under a cloud? If Trump is the very stable genius he claims to be, why is he so glaringly incapable of performing his duties while being obsessed instead with who is saying what about him on TV?
The answer is as obvious as the questions: your pResident is a fucking moron, whose only concern is his own criminality finally being exposed.

(115,719 posts)I didn't like much about what he was doing as president - especially regarding the Vietnam war - but at least he didn't blow off his job to blubber and whine constantly about how unfairly he was being treated. This is way beyond the "I am not a crook" speech. Nixon was a crook but he wasn't a fucking moron.

discuss (years after the fact) that the WH was immediately compartmentalized. There were staffers whose only task was dealing with the investigation/impeachment issues, and there were staffers who only worked on day-to-day, regular WH business issues. And the two groups were forbidden to talk to each other about the details of what each were doing.
Thats why the administration never missed a beat, and the peoples business was looked after regardless of what turmoil was ongoing in the media and the public court of opinion. Bill made it clear that he had a job to do, and it was going to be "business as usual" as far as his duties were concerned.
Bill never missed a meeting, a phone call, an event due to his personal troubles and never complained to the citizenry about being persecuted, being attacked, et cetera.
Its just another glaring example of just how self-absorbed Spanky McShithouse is If Im unhappy, nothing else matters - not even the country.

He's doing an Albert Anastasia imitation, and doing it poorly. Everybody Google Albert Anastasia.
Will Trump take the Herman Goering exit strategy, or R. Budd Dwyer?
