The Republican Party is on trial.

When Republicans joined with Democrats to approve Robert Mueller as a Special Counsel to investigate Russia's attacks on our elections, and possible Trump campaign complicity, they gave their stamp of approval to Robert Mueller. The Legislative Branch approved the investigation.

The rule of law is at play. No one is above the law, we are told. Republicans must show that they believe in that principle, also.

It doesn't help when Donald Trump tweets that the investigation is a "witch-hunt" and that the FBI is a "disgrace" and it is all carried out by partisan Democrats.

The facts indicate that Robert Mueller, a Republican, found evidence that Michael Cohen, Trump's lawyer, was involved in some sort of criminal activity that required further investigation. He took that evidence to his boss, Rod Rosenstein, to seek further guidance. Rosenstein, a Republican, made the decision to send the investigation to the more appropriate legal authority, the US Attorney in southern New York. The US Attorney, Geoffrey Berman, a Republican, was interviewed personally by Donald Trump before he was hired to his position. These Republicans are the driving forces behind the present investigation, not the Democrats that Trump prefers to blame for his troubles.

The Republicans in Congress and the Senate must decide if they support the rule of law or if they support their Party in this time of crisis. Do they defend their President or do they follow their investigation to the end? Do they stand for law and order or do they stand for obstruction and criminality? Will they circle the wagons or will they stand for the rule of law? The pressures against them, from Donald Trump and external media sources, are very great.

Will they redeem themselves in this investigation or will they surrender to the partisan voices screaming in their ears? When the going gets really rough, will they stand up for the rule of law or will they run like cowards. Make no mistake. The Republican Party is on trial.

about the rule of law as they (and their masters) are achieving all they want with Trump in the whitehouse.....the dismantling of our government, rules and regulations and appointing rabid batshit crazy federal judges

before the GOP goes down, and they know they will, their attacks will escalate to social security, medicare, prevailing wage act and several other issues in the Heritage Foundation white Papers

our take down will happen in November and everyone of us DU members MUST do all we can to get democrats elected.

the GOP has no path to take so they will not deviate from the one they are on.

If democrats take the senate, first thing is no more judges appointed until trump is gone. 2nd, all trump policies are stopped....3rd, Mueller continues back in the investigation..and if the evidence exist...4th, articles of impeachment are voted and passed in the House....

then its up to trump and what remaining GOP allies on what to do next.
