Mark Zuckerberg Confirms Facebook Is Cooperating With Mueller Probe
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed Tuesday that his social-networking company may have been received subpoenas as part of Special Counsel Robert Muellers Russia probe; and that people at the company have been interviewed. During a Senate judiciary hearing, Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) asked if Facebook has been served subpoenas by Mueller and if employees have been questioned, Zuckerberg clearly answered Yes. He then began to walk back: I want to be careful here because our work with the special counsel is confidential, and I want to make sure, in an open session, Im not revealing anything. He then clarified, saying, I actually am not aware of a subpoena. I believe there may be, but I know were working with them. Zuckerberg will spend Tuesday and Wednesday on Capitol Hill, appearing in a few hearings to take questions on Russian troll farms use of Facebook to interfere in the 2016 election; and how Trump-linked data firm Cambridge Analytica inappropriately used the data of at least 87 million Facebook users to conduct political ad targeting.
