to speak with the judge and insisted that the name of the third client be made public in the name of the first amendment. The judge seemed comfortable with Cohen's lawyer writing the name on a piece of paper and handing it to her.

(51,664 posts)They usually do it through their trade associations, like Western States Petroleum. Or directly, filing amicus briefs in support of the polluter's legal position.
Same thing with consumer protection cases.
