Eight More Ways Women Will Benefit Under Obamacare Starting Tomorrow

When eight Obamacare regulations go into effect tomorrow, 47 million women will benefit from the guaranteed coverage of preventive services — including contraception coverage — without co-pays. The new rules will require most insurance plans to begin including the services at no additional cost at the next renewal date that falls on or after August 1, according to a news release from the Department of Health and Human Services.

The Center for American Progress graphic breaks down what will be covered and how women will benefit:

she has insurance but did`t want obamacare...ya go figure. so now my wife can put this in her union newspaper. maybe women like the one my wife talked to will wake the hell up.

republicans do`t give a shit about women if they might have to spend a dime on women`s healthcare .

In which case they can be charged three times as much for just being old, but not old enough for Medicare. There is a significant death toll among the uninsured 50-64 demographic due to putting off needed care until Medicare eligibility.

Over 50 and you become invisible in this society. But only the women, the men become "distinguished."

in the work force. Gone are the days (hopefully) when employers think that because you're over 50, ins. costs will be higher. NOW they know for certain that pre-menopausal women will likely cost them a lot in ins. claims, which affects premiums.

Older women don't use contraceptives, aren't likely to need HIV testing or most of those other things. They are more likely to take hormones.

Hopefully, this will help older women get more jobs, since they're discriminated against to begin with.

The thing that the employer cares about is TOTAL CLAIMS, because that affects the group policy rate.

Now they know that young women will be likely to turn in a lot in claims vs older women. It's very expensive to pay for contraceptives for hundreds of women on an ongoing basis. $50/mo. for 200 women for one year = about $120,000. Every year.

I've never heard of an employer who did. The exchanges, where people without employer based insurance will be forced to go, will fuck over women for being old. What a relief, as long as it isn't for being female.

nothing in Obamacare has hit businesses to cost them anything yet, is my understanding. In fact, starting this year, they're starting to get rebates from the ins. cos.

not saying that isn't a good thing, but women without insurance are in far greater need.
