I think that Macron knows Two Scoops for what he is (it's a long list of
negatives and we already know them), but was chosen by the European Union
leaders to negotiate with said dotard. The Paris Climate accords, the Iranian
deal and Syria are all of concern and Merkel or May wouldn't go, so Macron got
stuck with the job.

(17,276 posts)Should have matters well in hand.
He's a globalist and Trump is not. If Donnie thinks they are friends, he's being naive.

(9,961 posts)...Macron is doing a job for the world community. He will secretly report to our allies and try to get as much out of The Donald as possible. Everyone is "playing" The Donald.

(20,862 posts)I think they know Trump liked the man's wife as well.Trump is such a simpleton. He thinks Macron is like him because Macron's wife is attractive. Thus, Macron is the perfect man to try to get the EU what it wants.

(7,947 posts)We all know that. His "friends" all know that. His own family knows he's incapable (or more likely, unwilling) to give compassion and love.
He's constantly talking about his "friends"-- other state leaders ("He's my very good friend!" , but it's just as empty as when he says he loves his children and his wife.

It's still bullshit.

(959 posts)but he knows how to handle him for France's benefit. Lots of people are finally figuring out how to deal with this ridiculous person; lavish him with gushy praise, try to appear submissive to his bluster, disregard his obvious lies and fairy tales, etc. etc. If you are able to swallow your bile and adhere to a few guidelines like this, you can have Dump eating out of your hand.

(63,221 posts)consider someone like Trump a true friend. I doubt he would even give him the time of day if they were just average citizens.
Anyone who genuinely likes Trump is a flaming idiot.
