I try to pay attention to the news, but some how I must have missed Trump hailing Mr. Shaw as an American hero.

Unfortunately, Mr. Shaw's bravery and grace run counter to the right-wing Shibboleth, so "no soup" for Mr. Shaw.

Does anyone know what kind of logical fallacy is being used when your opponent tries to dilute the positive facts of one event, by posting information from another, unrelated event?
