We can do more than vote. And we can do it now.
It seems that, at the moment, we Democrats have only one message and one counter attack to what has and is happening to us. "Vote in November."
Well, that's a given, but it's not enough. We must do more than that. Right now.
We are under attack and have been for decades. And it's the Republican Party that has been attacking us, our freedoms, and everything we've ever believed America to be.
And yeah, hypocrisy has always been a part of it. All that stuff about "... your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, ..." has all too often proved to be bullshit. But it has just as often given our parents, or our grandparents, or our great grandparents opportunity. The opportunity to turn out descendants, -- people like us, -- who are now logging into places like Democratic Underground to speak our minds.
And speak our minds we must. We have to loudly and publicly call out all Republicans for what they are. We must speak out to everyone, friends, family, etc, and tell them that a vote for a Republican is a vote for fascism. It's a vote for hatred. It's a vote that could well lead to a dystopian world in which we are all, at best, serfs struggling for survival.
We must speak up now while we're still "allowed" to. We must try to shame those who have been duped and try to show them a path back to decency.
