My theory why the UK and France are supporting Trump regarding Syria

Both countries have recent and very bad experiences with Putin. The UK with Putin blatantly murdering Russians in the streets and Macron with Russian interference in France’s recent elections.

Macron is also injecting himself into the Iran nuclear agreement, and he’s smart enough to make sure to talk at length (in French, at the press conference) about the “agreements” he and Trump came to in their talks. He went on the record to let the world know about it before Trumps tweets the agreements out of existence. This puts him on the right side, which is not necessarily Trump’s side. The right side is the one against Putin.

Strange bedfellows indeed, and I bet Trump doesn’t understand this at all. He thinks he’s being idolized and Macron is letting him.

Macron is working to be one of the EU world powers, post Trump.
