https://nypost.com/2018/04/24/pit-bull-attacks-woman-on-subway/The video shows the pooch chomping down on a womans shoe for several seconds as straphangers yell at the animals handler.
Get the dog off of her! yells one woman.
Call the police! another man screams.
The train descends into chaos as riders try to get away from the dog. A man sitting next to the woman with her shoe in the dogs mouth pulls hard on her leg to try to shake the beast off.
The dog finally releases near the end of the video and the animals handler tries to get it back into a crate while other riders continue to scream at him.
MTA officials, who didnt know where and when the incident happened, called

(17,984 posts)That's not the way to "pull" a dog off. And you sure as hell don't pull the shoe. That's like saying, "Hey dog, let's play tug o war". This owner did not know what he was doing. People yelling and screaming didn't help either. What a shitshow.

(17,984 posts)They finally got the shoe off the woman, and the dog dropped it. The owner lifts the shoe up, and the dog's eyes follow the shoe. That dog wanted to play with that particular shoe. And when the owner throws the shoe back to the woman, the dog wants to chase after it.

(32,467 posts)he'd hand me one side of his toy and start tugging like crazy. He'd do that same head shake.

(17,235 posts)and dogs playing that game don't want to give up their position in the game. The screaming and yelling people were adding to the drama of the situation imo.

(36,926 posts)I have a Pomeranian and before that a Yorkie, but I wouldn't have let either of those little babies loose in a subway. Dogs, no matter how small, can bite.

(17,235 posts)can fear bite. This pitbull in the video needed to be contained and controlled by his owner.
