Watching Ari Melber

and I find myself unable to pay attention to what he’s saying because I’m getting really irritated by the recent three day beard growth he has.

A year or two ago it became a fad to have leading men sporting a two day growth and I think it looks pretty attractive, but now it’s being used everywhere. I think it maybe could be passable for journalists and political shows and talking heads if the growth were only one or two days old or an actual beard, but that facial growth has gotten worse and worse even on leading men, unless the show calls for it for a reason like, say, the Walking Dead.

I’m beginning to think that if you’re in a suit and tie the growth just doesn’t do what you want it to. It’s fine if you dress casually, but otherwise it just looks contrived.

Sorry for venting! But it’s like I’m getting visual beard burn! Lol!

his face.

(blink*blink*deep sigh)

PS: about the burn: you're right. An old boyfriend kept his beard like that. It was like rubbing your face against a belt sander.

I just think that men with black hair don’t need more than a one day growth. Anything over that gets too heavy handed.

Not so much for the combat scenes (which are pretty good btw) but because it has some fantabulous examples of facial hair.

I don't recognize the guy on the right. I agree about the facial hair on that Gettysburg mini-series.
Jeff Daniels' mustache is a work of art.

I find I may not continue to watch him because he is so damn rude...always talking over/interrupting the guests. He's getting as bad as Tweety who I don't watch for that very reason. Why have guests if they don't want to let them speak? And big surprise Ari...I actually want to hear them, which is why I'm watching.

Rant over. I also sent him an email about this today.

And I believe it because it works on me, but it may be more than a three day growth on Ari. I’ce Always liked the way you can see the blueness of his stubble when he’s actually clean shaven.

I saw what you mean about Ari. Guys a human being. I think it may have given him some hip hop street cred w his guest.
Oh by the way...Kanye West can take a flying leap. SO tired of the do nothing Khardasians that seem to really think America cares.

Beards are good, in almost any shape as long as their trim and don’t grow down the neck, but graying stubble just looks messy and unkempt.

Not sure when the dirty face look became popular again(?), but I'll be glad when it's gone. The beard thing comes and goes I suppose. Weird bc so many look ...um...Taliban-ish and I'm surprised it's gotten popular again. Oh well. To each his own.
