Have you ever had a manager who "kissed up and kicked down"?

That's what they were saying about Dr Jackson, the man Trump nominated. I don't know how else to explain why Obama, Bush, and Trump all thought he was a great guy.

It seems like a lot of miserable people find their way to the top by doing this. Its too bad the people on the bottom rung of employment aren't listened to when evaluating managers.

because the Pentagon is known to guard carefully or cover up any personal problems with its senior officers. All of the complaints about him probably would have been kept within the military chain of command and not disclosed to the presidents or their civilian staffs. And the first two presidents, Bush and Obama, were both pretty healthy and so probably seldom saw any of the WH medical staff at all. Trump, of course, cares only about flattery and would have eaten it up.

I bet his employees over the years are saying, "Finally, someone is listening to us!". Too bad it took far too long.

The large majority of them ended up crashing and burning, but not before leaving significant damage in their wake.

Without exception, they were transferred, replaced, or otherwise stripped of their authority.

Eventually, I just came to expect that the cream doesn't rise to the top -- the really big turds do.

Anyhow, I've been self-employed since 1974, so I've avoided that problem pretty much altogether since then.

and can change managers if someone is not working out for us. Getting good documented feedback from employees is crucial for promotion and raises in my company. I gave constructive criticism to my manager and he actually worked to improve in that area.
