No doubt, the people of North and South Korea saw something that Donald Trump was doing with which they did not feel comfortable. His threats of nuclear obliteration of the Peninsula made both sides take notice. In the end, they both figured they had more in common with each other than anything that Donald Trump had to offer. Both sides felt threatened by the comments of Donald Trump.
So, in that sense, Donald Trump has helped to bring the Korean people together. It is doubtful, and no one would recommend it, that the Trump style of diplomacy will be adopted by the United Nations or any other country in the world.
If the Nobel Peace Prize does not stand for threats of annihilation and childish name-calling, then it stands for nothing.

(14,971 posts)campaigned on the promise of better relations with NK and even hinted at re-unification. This has been in the works before Trump got involved but helltake all the credit if its realized. Hell never get the Nobel for threatening to nuke NK.

(111,110 posts)But, I agree that the seeds for reunification had already been planted, but the threats from Donald Trump will be portrayed as "tough diplomacy" that nobody else was capable of doing.
What next? He threatens to blow Iran off the map and everyone in the Middle East unites to oppose his plan to blow up the world?
"Crazy" is the new strategy?
