If every gay person permanently turned away from every person who EVER in their lives

said or thought anything homophobic, they would have very few friends left including less gay friends left, which is why gay people dont do that, surely not the ones I know.

No, this is not about her vs the gay community AT ALL and we all know that.

Gay people realize that straight people ESPECIALLY those born before a certain time, had cultural shit thrown at them from day one about gay people that often resulted in ignorant comments or thoughts.

Hell SOME, not all, gay people themselves have said shit about gay people under the pressure of the shit culture most of us grew up in.

You could say the same thing about racism, and you should. People change and evolve as they go through life. I have and continue to. That's why it's important to acknowledge and denounce feelings and statements from your past. The best apology I've heard lately was: "I did it. I'm sorry. And it won't happen again." It's simple and there is no question about who's claiming responsibility.

promise to NEVER vote for a con again.

And that is very new, fresh stuff.

But if I am being accused of some stuff I did say, some stuff i did not say, it could get complicated.

I will say the content of one post I thought was particularly egregious but her refusal to take responsibility is the main problem I have.

Track One- She isn't the author of the hurtful words attributed to her.

Track Two- She is the author but people can grow. Nobody should be judged by their worst act/acts.

Until folks settle on a track this issue will not be resolved. I am reluctant to get into this briar patch. Life is too short but a reasonably prescient person can infer which track I am on.

If these newly discovered posts were hers and she's lying about it, that's a very different thing. Likewise if her claim is true, the comments are irrelevant to her.

We can't know more until the alleged evidence is presented or at least confirmed by an uninterested party. Reid's IT person says the evidence points to specific people but he doesn't want to name names without higher certainty. He could let a security company review the information and confirm, but if an FBI investigation is opened that might not be allowed.

what they are and are not allowed to find offensive?

Parallel behaviors are typically denounced as whitesplaining, mansplaining, etc.

It seems nearly a thousand posts of it at this point.

Political tribalism is coarsening people and eroding principles, I think. Trump's insanity is getting contagious around the periphery. If a liberal can't strongly and vociferously denounce bigotry, what's the point of being a liberal?

Didn't ya know? Our opinions are not worthy. We need to keep our mouths shut, but wallets open and votes ready to give freely. But hey, we can always wait until someone finds "some of their best friends" (or a flaming gay author) to confirm their bias.
